    @maique Signal it is.

  • Feb 9, 2021 -

    @caseyhansen Kind of an eclectic combination of laser cut goods (by us) and unique niche items from manufacturers.

  • Feb 9, 2021 -

    @gregmoore Thank you much!

  • Nov 24, 2020 -

    @mroutley Raindrop is good. Similar to Pocket in my opinion. Just tries to do too much. Even if any of them had a “super basic” mode, I’d be happy.

  • Nov 24, 2020 -

    @mroutley How are using on iOS? If at all? I used to have an elaborate Shortcuts setup with it, but let that die a while back.

  • Nov 24, 2020 -

    @gregmoore For a while, I used Shortcuts to dump bookmarks into different apps/files. It worked but didn’t really scale well.

    And same as you, currently using Safari bookmarks and Safari Reader.

  • Nov 24, 2020 -

    @jack How does this not exist? Pinboard is the closest thing, but no first party app and rough third party ones.

    I’ve tried raindrop, pocket, instapaper, saved.io, pinboard, Pinterest, etc.

  • Oct 27, 2020 -

    @gregmoore I replied to your email.

  • Oct 20, 2020 -

    @bix Ordered! Picked you up the iPhone 3GS. You’ll love it!

  • Oct 20, 2020 -

    @Gabz Thanks. That was it. All seems good now.

  • Oct 20, 2020 -

    @khurtwilliams No problem. Same on iOS as well.

  • Oct 20, 2020 -

    @manton Ahh, that was it. I did a lot to the site at once (post, CSS, etc), perhaps making it take a little longer. In any case, all is well. Thanks.

  • Oct 20, 2020 -

    @khurtwilliams @adamprine With the new version of Reeder, you can actually save stuff to Read Later from anywhere. I’ve used it with Safari, Tweetbot, and Reddit so far.

  • Oct 19, 2020 -

    @adamprime I could see that being valuable. I have an Oasis, but I’ve only used it for full length novels and such.

  • Oct 19, 2020 -

    @khurtwilliams Yeah, I was a user back then and again with the re-release (early Beta). I really like it because of the insistence on staying current with the OS, both in features and design. But wanted to give the new Reeder a try too.

  • Oct 19, 2020 -

    @crossingthethreshold I’ve used all as well. They’re all very good!

  • Oct 19, 2020 -

    @adamprime I used Instapaper for ages, but moved on when it kind of stalled a while back. You prefer Instapaper over Reeder's Read Later features? I've been impressed with it so far (not long, obviously).

  • Oct 19, 2020 -

    @hawaiiboy Yeah, pretty much same reasoning for me. And sometimes I really need a notification from a Paper Trail item. And I found myself never checking the feeds list. And spam protection wasn’t the greatest. And and and…

  • Oct 19, 2020 -

    @Mtt @manton Update: I added a comment to the new post and it made it update the home page.

  • Oct 19, 2020 -

    @pratik If my disappointment subsides in time, sure. Or if the Rays seem to be pulling away.

  • Oct 19, 2020 -

    @manton Switched themes and looks like I have some sort of home page caching issue. New posts aren't showing on home page (they are creating their own single posts though).

  • Sep 29, 2020 -

    @manton I think the option to "embed” is just as powerful, especially since using Quotebacks. BUT I would need that on mobile and it doesn't appear to be an option there.

  • Sep 29, 2020 -

    @manton Can bookmarks (or highlights) be public facing?

  • Sep 29, 2020 -

    @manton Thank you!

  • Sep 29, 2020 -

    @manton Are there details anywhere about the bookmarking stuff? Have I just missed that?

  • Jul 29, 2020 -

    @canion Ahh. Maybe use bit.ly or something to shorten the url? I think micro.blog may be breaking it when posting.

  • Jul 29, 2020 -

    @canion That link seems to just take me to the promo site.

  • Jul 28, 2020 -

    @sgtstretch Same here.

  • Jul 28, 2020 -

    @canion Same. Paid it before I even played the game. Knew I’d like it.

  • Jul 17, 2020 -

    @help Thank you!

  • Jul 16, 2020 -

    @bix Ha! You caught me. Don’t tell Twitter.

  • Jul 16, 2020 -

    @manton @help Any idea why my domain has started showing as ‘not verified’?

  • Jul 16, 2020 -

    @kaa For simplicity sake, was hoping to get to it with an 'If' statement. Basically, dates and comments are attempting to show on pages instead of just posts. Probably have to split it up like you said.

  • Jul 11, 2020 -

    @gregmoore Glad it was helpful! If you like the style, keep it or tweak it. Won’t bother me!

  • Jul 7, 2020 -

    @manton Awesome you found that useful. I tried to do the bare minimum amount of CSS possible and still be perfectly functional for the majority. I was afraid adding more to it would create conflicts for people who have done more customizations.

  • Jun 7, 2020 -

    @crossingthethreshold Yeah, I can only imagine. We actually explored going sooner but with the mandatory quarantine and uncertainty for vacation rentals, we pushed back to February.

  • Apr 20, 2020 -

    @sarcassem They were out too. It’s just not meant to be!

  • Apr 19, 2020 -

    @sarcassem Will be trying tomorrow!

  • Apr 19, 2020 -

    @sarcassem You might be my hero. Weird craving for like 3 weeks for me.

  • Apr 19, 2020 -

    @sarcassem We actually do. Do they sell by the bottle?

  • Apr 15, 2020 -

    @hawaiiboy We are about to book a refundable trip in January to Maui. We try to go at least once (Maui or big island) every year or two.

  • Apr 15, 2020 -

    @hawaiiboy Although if it’s a condo in Hawaii, I might take it without electricity!

  • Apr 15, 2020 -

    @hawaiiboy At least both of ours are semi easy or easy replacements!

  • Apr 14, 2020 -

    @crossingthethreshold Yep, the big island that time.

  • Apr 4, 2020 -

    @rexbarrett Thanks!

  • Apr 4, 2020 -

    @outdoorzen Thanks!

  • Apr 4, 2020 -

    @pratik Thanks!

  • Apr 3, 2020 -

    @Mtt Update: Somehow, thanks to social media, I was able to find one despite being heavily on backorder everywhere. Thanks internet!

  • Apr 3, 2020 -

    @pyrmont Seriously late reply here, but haven’t been on much for those reasons. But thanks, and it seems we made it through all that as well as possible.

  • Mar 14, 2020 -

    @pratik Yeah, I could definitely get on board with that. I think we’re a little luckier here because disaster prep is more a part of life (primarily hurricanes). Everyone’s a little calmer and nicer than how it seems elsewhere.

  • Mar 14, 2020 -

    @pratik Agreed. Although in my case, the store was completely out of those things.

  • Mar 12, 2020 -

    @pratik Ha. People were leaving happy that had strep. It’s a different world right now for sure.

  • Feb 29, 2020 -

    @sarcassem Thank you very much!

  • Feb 29, 2020 -

    @scientifics Thank you! We’re excited!

  • Feb 29, 2020 -

    @pratik Thank you!

  • Feb 26, 2020 -

    @JohnPhilpin Different feature. @manton released Conversation.js a couple days ago. You can toggle it on in settings and style using CSS.

  • Feb 26, 2020 -

    @pratik Well, it was a while later that I realized how stupid I’d been. I figured oh well at that point. I quit shortly after. Little did I know I’d be going back soon at a higher position and would be firing people for doing the same (although intentionally).

  • Feb 26, 2020 -

    @pratik Yeah, I don’t know how I got away with it. To be clear, it was before release (not before announced). However, at the time, the only pics out there were from reviewers.

  • Feb 26, 2020 -

    @pratik That’s tough! I used to work for T-Mobile and had to let a guy go for sending company secrets to tech blogs. Obviously a fire-able offense, but I still stumbled through it. Ironically, before I was aware of the policies, I Instagrammed pics of the iPhone 5c before it was officially released and never got so much as a mean look.

  • Feb 26, 2020 -

    @chet Thanks! I’ve got some more awesome gear I plan on posting in the next few days.

  • Feb 26, 2020 -

    @Gabz Yeah, I’m guilty of that too. NetNewsWire is nostalgic for me, and I see myself staying with it. At least at the start, it is way more actively developed than Unread and Reeder. I’m not a fan of the ones like Fiery Feeds, etc.

  • Feb 26, 2020 -

    @Gabz Have you tried NetNewsWire (open beta now)? I used Unread for a long time, but switched a while back.

  • Feb 26, 2020 -

    @kaa I wish there was a way to choose categories. A while back I saw someone share an Action that was supposed to do that, but I could never get it to work properly.

  • Feb 26, 2020 -

    @kaa Would you share the Drafts Action(s) you use? I used it for micro.blog for a while, but eventually my Actions began to break apart and I never rebuilt them.

  • Feb 26, 2020 -

    @bix Yeah, I'm sure I'll go through countless revisions until I settle. It's easy to upsize the avatars, but I always have to refresh myself on vertically aligning/centering text when I run into that issue (will have to do that with username if avatar is enlarged). So I haven't done that yet.

  • Feb 26, 2020 -

    @Mtt As a followup to this, I did take certain queues (and set certain goals) based on @vincent's implementation. He had to go about it in a different (more advanced) way because he hosts his own blog, but his is the best I've seen to date.

  • Feb 26, 2020 -

    @vincent Best implementation I’ve seen yet.

  • Feb 26, 2020 -

    @vincent Very nicely done!

  • Feb 25, 2020 -

    @manton This is great. And incredibly easy to implement and style. I do have 2 requests for the native/default implementation. First, slightly larger avatars. Second, a defined class for comments by the blog’s author (don’t even know if this is possible).

  • Feb 25, 2020 -

    @manton Perfectly so!

  • Feb 25, 2020 -

    @Mtt Replying to myself to test this reply display thing out.

  • Feb 24, 2020 -

    @pratik I think I would mostly trust Austin Cajun. It’s close enough to know the real stuff. Also close enough to get the crawfish live. Some people talk about loving their Cajun restaurant that serves étouffée over yellow rice with frozen Chinese crawfish.

  • Feb 24, 2020 -

    @pratik For reference, there are at least 15 crawfish places within a 5 mile radius of my house.

  • Feb 24, 2020 -

    @pratik Cool! Where are you located? Don’t hear of many real crawfish boils outside of this area.

  • Feb 2, 2020 -

    @pratik Same here. And it might switch throughout. Especially if there’s a chance for a big comeback or record or something.

  • Jan 29, 2020 -

    @chet I actually just use the free version, no need for the stuff behind the paywall. I will see when I upgraded the app I got a notice that some things were unlocked because I was an existing customer. Not sure of what specifically they are.

  • Jan 28, 2020 -

    @adamprocter That seems to be an issue with a poorly made banking app.

  • Jan 28, 2020 -

    @bix I wonder if Twitter would allow that with all of their crazy developer rules these days.

  • Jan 28, 2020 -

    @Gabz Thanks!

  • Jan 28, 2020 -

    @bix Tweetbot? I mean it also has DMs, but timeline is chronological, activity is only mentions, had no ads.

  • Jan 27, 2020 -

    @manton Love it!

  • Jan 26, 2020 -

    @kaa Report on daughters by ABC looks incorrect.

  • Jan 25, 2020 -

    @odd Ha! Haven’t seen that one in a long time!

  • Jan 25, 2020 -

    @johnholzer You’re right. It looked great when I took the time to make it look great. But that was few and far between.

  • Jan 22, 2020 -

    @jayroddi Same as others. I think going with the system is the way to go.

  • Jan 21, 2020 -

    @bix That’s frustrating. Good job figuring it out. Wouldn’t have been my first guess for sure.

  • Jan 20, 2020 -

    @pratik There are times when I feel like speeds might be lower, but that’s rare. I mostly use mine for public WiFi (including friends/family WiFi). Really, my only ‘trusted’ networks are my home, my work (I’m administrator), my parents (I set it up), and my cell provider (out of necessity).

  • Jan 20, 2020 -

    @pratik Content Blockers, DuckDuckGo for search (and their privacy apps), delete Facebook, block cross site tracking. That accomplished most of what I need/want.

  • Jan 20, 2020 -

    @pratik Yeah to all of that. Honestly, there’s too much mental work required to switch for websites/apps (for me at least). I don’t have any services where I need to disguise my location for access, and if I need extreme privacy I’ll use a privacy focused browser.

  • Jan 20, 2020 -

    @pratik I base my usage more on what network I’m on currently.

  • Jan 20, 2020 -

    @bix Since we've taken queues from one another, I thought you might be interested in this hidden-ish page that I use for styling reference.

  • Jan 17, 2020 -

    @bix I see my first post to you today was poorly worded. I said “negative margins and calc,” but I should’ve said something like “negative margins and img width calc.”

  • Jan 17, 2020 -

    @bix That’s the only way to figure out the proper image width across various screen sizes. You know you want it to be 40px wider (margin-left + margin-right) than parent element, but you don’t know how wide the parent element will end up being. So 100% + 40px is the only way to get it right every time.

  • Jan 17, 2020 -

    @manton It’s all good. I know you’re working hard. Appreciate it all.

  • Jan 17, 2020 -

    @colinwalker Just tried. It does make the curly bracket show...but the backslash shows too. So either way, weird behavior.

  • Jan 17, 2020 -

    @colinwalker I should tried that. I assumed it wouldn’t work since no other characters needed it, but still worth trying.

  • Jan 17, 2020 -

    @help Is there any way to fix the issue where open curly brackets don’t display properly in code snippets? See this post for the error.

  • Jan 17, 2020 -

    @Gabz This will work everywhere, not theme specific.

  • Jan 17, 2020 -

    @bix Following up: Figured out my full width image thing. Had to use negative margins and calc.

  • Jan 17, 2020 -

    @kaa Following up: Figured out my full width image thing. Had to use negative margins and calc.

  • Jan 17, 2020 -

    @Gabz Here you go. Let me know if you run into any issues or need help/opinions.

  • Jan 17, 2020 -

    @manton As a followup, I was able to get full width img in Marfa working with negative margins (with some calc use). Also applied it to pre, blockquote.

  • Jan 17, 2020 -

    @Gabz Yep, I’m all in on 1Password.

    As for categories, not at all. I actually wrote about it. As you can tell in the post, there’s a bug with displaying the code. Let me know if you want/need me to send it to you without the bracket problem.

  • Jan 14, 2020 -

    @kaa Thanks!

  • Jan 14, 2020 -

    @adamprocter I had the same issue, but @manton explained it here. You can get the same effect as blank by overriding/customizing the existing files of any theme.

  • Jan 11, 2020 -

    @bix Can I bite on this too?

  • Jan 11, 2020 -

    @bix Just joined, had been holding off for some reason. I don’t know how many channels there are, but I’m only in #general and #random as of now.

  • Jan 11, 2020 -

    @manton To properly achieve it with negative margins, I believe you have to have a set width parent element. In this case, it isn’t known. However, @bix is on it and looks to have a way to insert images with figure tags.

  • Jan 11, 2020 -

    @bix Cool. I’m on mobile today so didn’t dig into source. Great idea either way.

  • Jan 11, 2020 -

    @bix Any help is greatly appreciated. I do like a lot of the customizations you’ve done. Love the highlighted blockquote style. Never seen it done that way before. Kudos.

  • Jan 11, 2020 -

    @manton Is there any way to break images out of paragraph tags? Main reason is to get them full width easily (without JS) on mobile.

    I know I could manually do it using figure tags, but that’s not feasible in app. Perhaps a site wide option to insert images with either an img (with p) or as figure?

  • Jan 11, 2020 -

    @tchambers If your site is hosted on micro.blog, I had the same issue. Manton got it sorted out quickly for me.

  • Jan 11, 2020 -

    @kaa I also went the route of automatic dark mode (via browser/system settings), but I like your toggle switch too.

  • Jan 11, 2020 -

    @kaa Thanks. I especially like the underpants on iOS. The jumpback scrolling, colored title bar, etc really pop.

    I think that particular photos layout is only utilized when posting a photo album via Sunlit, but maybe I’m mistaken.

  • Jan 10, 2020 -

    @smokey Just following up...but I ended up just customizing Marfa as much as I wanted. Few things remain on the todo list, but mostly done.

  • Jan 10, 2020 -

    @kaa I went your route. Manipulated Marfa to get what I (mostly) wanted. Would love to easily have full width images on mobile (without JavaScript), but they’re wrapped in paragraph tags by default. Maybe one day.

  • Jan 10, 2020 -

    @adamprocter As a followup, I just ended up customizing Marfa to my heart’s content. Ya know, until next week when I feel the need to change everything.

  • Jan 10, 2020 -

    @Miraz I went a little crazy on the Marfa theme. I don’t have anything written up, but let me know if anything interests you.

  • Jan 8, 2020 -

    @help Thanks!

  • Jan 8, 2020 -

    @manton Hit up @help earlier today, but haven't heard back. My hosted site isn't accessible to most people because "can't establish a secure connection to the server." Been like that most of the day.

  • Jan 8, 2020 -

    @help People visiting my hosted site are getting a “This connection is not private” message. Any way to fix this? Been working flawlessly until today.

  • Jan 6, 2020 -

    @smokey Ha! I see what you mean!

  • Jan 6, 2020 -

    @jemostrom No doubt! Ha

  • Jan 2, 2020 -

    @smokey Also just realized it’s contingent on GitHub access. Probably explains why it wasn’t working as I was expecting.

  • Jan 2, 2020 -

    @smokey For some reason, I can’t get the blank theme to work properly. It seems to just build out based on the default theme for me. In fairness, I only tried it a couple times and I tend to be impatient.

  • Jan 2, 2020 -

    @kaa I’m one of the lucky few who taught myself to do what you’re saying. Honestly, it all started with MySpace forever ago. I saw there’s a new blank theme in micro.blog, so I was thinking you figured out some undocumented way to go ninja on it. I’m gonna have a go at it in the next couple weeks. I can’t let you have the most unique one. Ha.

  • Jan 1, 2020 -

    @kaa Love your site design. Is that hosted on micro.blog? If so, did you just CSS an existing theme into submission or is there a way to use a completely custom theme that I’m missing?

  • Dec 31, 2019 -

    @fahrni Have you asked Manton or the Help account?

  • Dec 31, 2019 -

    @fahrni It’s an old classic - BravesJournal.com. I’m helping to migrate and modernize it.

  • Dec 31, 2019 -

    @fahrni No, I probably should’ve been clearer. Just migrating from one host to another. Nothing is “micro” about the site. It’s a prominent baseball blog that’s had some backend issues. I’m the hired help.

  • Dec 27, 2019 -

    @smokey Late to this, but thanks!

  • Dec 27, 2019 -

    @scientifics I think they’ve just caught on big time. I first heard of them a couple years ago, but now they seem to be the things to get. But I’m not in that world, so maybe some big tool guy promoted them?

  • Dec 25, 2019 -

    @sarcassem Thank you!

  • Dec 23, 2019 -

    @macgenie That sounds amazing. Also, we really need to hit up the Northwest more often. Haven’t been close in 5-6 years. Never been to Portland.

  • Dec 23, 2019 -

    @scientifics Typo there. It’s actually Watcht. For tracking TV shows.

    Wipr and 1Blocker are VERY different. Wipr is just for ads and tracking and has no setting whatsoever. Kind of install and forget. I used 1Blocker for a while, but I get basically the same results with less hassle with Wipr. Especially now that whitelisting is a system feature.

  • Dec 21, 2019 -

    @Gabz It was. The whole island is.

  • Dec 13, 2019 -

    @canion He also has an open TestFlight beta if that’s something you do.

  • Dec 13, 2019 -

    @canion I’ve used both of those as well. Wipr is the exact opposite of 1Blockers. There are no settings, no options, no comment or social blocking. It’s all about ads and trackers. Simple.

  • Dec 13, 2019 -

    @sgtstretch Developer is super responsive and app is actively developed as well.

  • Dec 13, 2019 -

    @sgtstretch At first glance, it seems to work. It looks like they have things like affiliate links with graphics that are hard coded that are appearing. You might know better? Here’s a screenshot.

  • Dec 9, 2019 -

    @toddgrotenhuis Ahh. I wonder if I can change refills in it. Not a click pen, but I have a Spoke Design pen by Brad Dowdy in order. Uses this refill.

  • Dec 9, 2019 -

    @toddgrotenhuis Wait, where? In 0.5? You might’ve changed my life.

  • Nov 27, 2019 -

    @crossingthethreshold I can’t imagine a scenario where we don’t at some point in 2020!

  • Nov 26, 2019 -

    @crossingthethreshold That trip was Maui (our most frequent). We’ve also done the Big Island, Oahu, and Kauai.

  • Nov 24, 2019 -

    @Zak Got payment. Thank you. Tracking tomorrow.

  • Nov 24, 2019 -

    @Zak Haha. I’m a tough negotiator.

  • Nov 24, 2019 -

    @Zak Gonna close the sale down. I’ll add the Tech Pouch to your shipment tomorrow for $35 if you’re interested. Had it originally listed for $45, Retails for $60. No worries if not. Have a good one!

  • Nov 23, 2019 -

    @Zak Cool. Marked off on Reddit. Shipped Mon with tracking. Let me know if you want to add a Peak Design Tech Pouch or anything else. 😬

  • Nov 23, 2019 -

    @Zak Got the $. The address on PayPal ok to ship to?

  • Nov 23, 2019 -

    @Zak I love the look of that one! I’ve always liked the NASA ones, but never grabbed any. I currently have a few of the generic colors, but that’s it.

  • Nov 23, 2019 -

    @Zak Emailed. Can ship out on Monday.

  • Nov 23, 2019 -

    @Zak That’s a cool thing to collect. Which is your favorite one?

  • Nov 23, 2019 -

    @Zak Got them listed at $50. Combining saves shipping costs. Plus I like micro.blog people. $45?

  • Nov 23, 2019 -

    @Zak Here is perfectly fine.

  • Nov 22, 2019 -

    @zorxique That seems quite dangerous with the mound so close.

  • Nov 22, 2019 -

    @bix 100% agree. I currently just forward from my domain email. Obviously not ideal, but it is what it is.

  • Nov 22, 2019 -

    @tmo I started with them but just didn’t work well with my setup/workflows. Tried fastmail and 3-4 others too. Ultimately went with iCloud of all things. I’m already paying for plenty of storage and it has all I need. Keeping a free Proton one for certain use cases.

  • Nov 22, 2019 -

    @artkavanagh Yeah, that’s a big difference with Russia. Especially if you look at in the context of WWII and the like.

  • Nov 22, 2019 -

    @smokey Awesome about having those at your school. We had those traditional wall maps and some rarely used globes. Looking back, I’m pretty certain my Geography teacher didn’t know about all of this.

  • Nov 19, 2019 -

    @rosemaryorchard @burk Shortcuts help request. If I want to take multiple paragraphs of plain text and add “>” before each one (Markdown Blockquote), what’s the best way? Thanks in advance for any guidance.

  • Nov 18, 2019 -

    @crossingthethreshold No prob. But to be clear, I’m not the author.

  • Nov 17, 2019 -

    @chet No, it doesn’t. I’m sure there is a way to do that, but they have built in verification procedures for law enforcement and even retail/bars that only work in app. Can use for anything in the state, but TSA isn’t yet honoring it. I used it to vote yesterday.

  • Nov 15, 2019 -

    @vincent Will there be a way to choose categories soon? Or is that even available in the API?

  • Nov 13, 2019 -

    @chet No doubt. Especially with kids here now and no concept of time whatsoever.

  • Nov 1, 2019 -

    @sgtstretch Agree 100%!

  • Oct 31, 2019 -

    @chet Interesting. I’ve never run into something needing to be packaged.

  • Oct 31, 2019 -

    @sarcassem Amazon has been giving us that option for a few months now (along with Amazon lockers). Don’t know if it’s everywhere or not. I don’t live in a typical launch-here-first area.

  • Oct 30, 2019 -

    @chet No worries

  • Oct 30, 2019 -

    @chet Came in a pack of two from Costco. They were shrink wrapped (Apple’s version that isn’t actual shrink wrap) as a pair. Took out of box, put back in. Never even plugged in.

  • Oct 22, 2019 -

    @craigmcclellan Love NEEDTOBREATHE, and my wife, @kalena, is obsessed. Everything they do is gold.

  • Oct 19, 2019 -

    @manton Thanks. There are too many one-offs for that to work for me right now (posts without cats, posts with multiple cats). My ideal solution would be anything in a certain category crossposted but nothing else. I guess a feature request!

  • Oct 19, 2019 -

    @manton Is there anyway to limit crossposting? For instance, don’t crosspost a certain category? Or perhaps something with filters? Thanks!

  • Oct 17, 2019 -

    @johnholzer Thanks. Was in a hurry so didn’t frame it as well as I should have. Night mode on iPhone 11 Pro.

  • Sep 29, 2019 -

    @sgtstretch That’s awesome!

  • Sep 27, 2019 -

    @ronguest Probably a great question for @rosemaryorchard.

  • Sep 24, 2019 -

    @JohnPhilpin And hopefully more soon. 😖

  • Sep 24, 2019 -

    @pratik Maybe some bug fixes there. Folder sharing is coming “soon.” Some more Apple apps can now read USB drives (like iMovie).

  • Sep 24, 2019 -

    @pratik Some added Shortcuts features, ability to play to multiple sets of AirPods (and perhaps other Bluetooth headphones), new AirDrop functionality, Apple Maps share ETA, and a bunch of bug fixes.

  • Sep 23, 2019 -

    @sgtstretch Nice. Got a pic? I have no issue with Mini Grips. If my list went top 10 (maybe even top 6), it would’ve been on there. Especially the upgraded models.

  • Sep 23, 2019 -

    @jack Yep, as long as you didn’t make modifications they’ll put in a spa treatment essentially. Most manufacturers offer something like that now. I sent my grandfather’s Buck away a while back and it came back amazing.

  • Sep 23, 2019 -

    @jack The Grip is great. I like the Mini slightly better, in fact, a lot of people say it’s the best in its price range. Can get upgraded steels on those as well.

  • Sep 23, 2019 -

    @Gabz My brother-in-law lives just a few minutes from their facility in Golden. Next time we visit, I’m going to set aside some time and check it out.

  • Sep 23, 2019 -

    @Gabz I’ve had a bunch of Spydercos (couple of different Sages, PMII, Tenacious, etc). There’s a lot to like about them, but I tend to like narrower pocket knives for how I carry.

  • Sep 22, 2019 -

    @jeannie There are so many different ways to use them outside of just building things too. They work great on metal garage doors, for example.

  • Sep 22, 2019 -

    @scottyloveless I do think the setup process could be better. The main pushback I’ve seen it due to complexity (getting an error message about different iCloud accounts) or just not understanding what it is.

  • Sep 20, 2019 -

    @pratik I think that means you used the wrong email with it. It’s not extremely apparent, but you can switch email addresses when logging in.

  • Sep 20, 2019 -

    @pratik It’s a whole different thing on iOS. Much much better than the Mac.

  • Sep 20, 2019 -

    @chet Agreed. I have a few that I’d prefer to remain as I set.

  • Sep 19, 2019 -

    @Gabz Go into The Design Settings and Edit CSS. Add the following line to remove both micro.blog links (one in navigation, one below avatar).

    .p-role, a.cta {display: none;}

    Make sense?

  • Sep 11, 2019 -

    @jack Yeah, I think they’ve moved on to function over form. I definitely don’t think they’re pieces of art, but I’d rather a wide camera and better battery (thicker/heavier) like these.

  • Sep 11, 2019 -

    @colinwalker I’ve never had a clear case. My wife had one with clear sections that did indeed turn yellow. So who knows. I’ve always gone for leather (either by Apple or Twelve South). I’m sure I’ll stick to that.

  • Sep 11, 2019 -

    @rosemaryorchard Same here. I got a brown leather (my default) and a clear one (to see, possibly return). What’d you go with?

    I think I’m gonna go with the green phone just as something different (unless it has delayed shipping Friday).

  • Aug 21, 2019 -

    @craigmcclellan Awesome!

  • Aug 20, 2019 -

    @craigmcclellan Yeah, you can use CSS to do that as well. Or hide it altogether (that’s what I did). I don’t mind helping, but I’m away from a computer for a bit. Let me know if you get it before you hear from me.

  • Aug 20, 2019 -

    @craigmcclellan It’s working for me in Safari View Controller. At least it is in the beta version of the micro.blog app. Maybe the app has to be built for dark mode first?

  • Aug 16, 2019 -

    @Gabz No problem!

  • Aug 16, 2019 -

    @andynicolaides Thanks!

  • Aug 16, 2019 -

    @pyrmont Ha. I don’t remember you asking, but no worries either way!

  • Aug 16, 2019 -

    @pyrmont It’s a local house of worship app that I’ve helped work on.

  • Aug 10, 2019 -

    @manton Can you target certain devices? Pure black on the OLED ones and something else on the others?

  • Aug 10, 2019 -

    @manton I vote for pure black (or at least the option to switch to pure black).

  • Aug 4, 2019 -

    @smokey Just saw this, sorry about delay. Brigsby loves tape measures too! He tries to make them hit the ceiling and says, “It tall!” And he thinks a wrench can fix anything that’s broken.

  • Aug 2, 2019 -

    @Mtt Well, the Nest isn't homekit. Forgot I put the homekit qualifier in there when I added it.

  • Jul 29, 2019 -

    @hollyhoneychurch He is that. Thanks!

  • Jul 29, 2019 -

    @macgenie Everyone we saw laughed! Just another day for him. Ha

  • Jul 15, 2019 -

    @smokey For sure.

  • Jul 12, 2019 -

    @smokey Having been through them a ton, as long as it’s a Category 1 or Tropical Storm, most damage I’d expect would be wind related (awnings, screens, potted plants, etc). Luckily, our house doesn’t have any of that (plants mostly moved inside).

    Having said that, if drainage backs up (man made or rivers)...that could be interesting. We are fortunate to be in a high area though.

    Knock on all the wood I can find.

  • Jul 9, 2019 -

    @aa Thanks! That’s all @kalena!

  • Jun 28, 2019 -

    @Ron Thanks. Apparently it’s a discontinued part made specifically for my garage door opener. Fortunately, I was able to fix it by bending some metal pieces and using about 7 different tools on my Leatherman. In any case, all seems to be good now.

  • Jun 27, 2019 -

    @brucegodin Here is the custom favicon walkthrough.

  • Jun 24, 2019 -

    @jw In my thorough testing (≈ 20 minutes of opening/closing apps), everything has worked. So scientifically speaking, it’s obviously flawless. 🙃

  • Jun 15, 2019 -

    @pratik Amazing shot.

  • Jun 14, 2019 -

    @smokey And I’ve thought of so many more to add and said to myself, “I’ll add them later.” Then I forget what they are. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  • Jun 6, 2019 -

    @pyrmont @EddieHinkle We tried a bunch of smart cameras and just couldn't find one that worked as well as we needed. We ended up going with this regular setup and absolutely love it. 30,000 4.5 star reviews on Amazon. Can even connect multiple cameras to one viewer.

  • Jun 6, 2019 -

    @manton Found a little CSS bug in the Marfa theme. Sent help an email with it and a quick fix. Nothing critical or urgent at all.

  • Jun 5, 2019 -

    @rmcrob Thanks about names. Yes, the list reflects his favorites. Haven’t introduced him to Aladdin yet, but I loved it as a kid. Last time I was in NYC, @kalena and I saw the broadway version (great, by the way). Will definitely watch the live action movie as well.

  • Jun 5, 2019 -

    @Kalena Ahh yeah. It would definitely knock off Lion King. Probably be 2nd. Whoops.

  • Jun 4, 2019 -

    @Kalena What a family!

  • May 30, 2019 -

    @manton Will do. At first glance, all looks great.

  • May 30, 2019 -

    @manton I had some free time, so I went ahead and did the manual deletion on my end. So no need to worry about that. The only thing I have pending is the SSL.

  • May 28, 2019 -

    @manton Well, thanks for putting in the time. 👊🏻

  • May 28, 2019 -

    @manton Ah, man. If it’s manual for you, don’t spend the time on it! I’ll click Delete until it’s done. I made my bed, I can sleep in it!

  • May 28, 2019 -

    @manton Hate to be a bother, but I have a couple of pending requests from last week (1 - delete content, 2 - SSL) that are still pending. Anything I can do to get those done? I’d love a tip jar or an option to pay more to support your work. Would do it in a heartbeat!

  • May 24, 2019 -

    @manton Thank you!

  • May 24, 2019 -

    @manton Is it possible to migrate a jekyll powered blog over to micro.blog in any documented way? Hundreds of posts.

  • Mar 30, 2019 -

    @craigmcclellan Thanks!

  • Mar 30, 2019 -

    @hollyhoneychurch Thanks!

  • Mar 30, 2019 -

    @EddieHinkle Thanks!

  • Mar 30, 2019 -

    @Mikehendley Thanks!

  • Mar 30, 2019 -

    @jack Agreed! And thanks!

  • Mar 20, 2019 -

    @nitinkhanna Yeah, we switched to better insurance for this year (thanks to my job) for this very reason. With no insurance, would’ve been in the 8-10,000 range.

  • Mar 20, 2019 -

    @nitinkhanna Our insurance carries a mid 3 thousand deductible with 100% coverage after. So the cost for us was that minus other things that had already gone to that deductible.

  • Mar 18, 2019 -

    @jack People think people that carry pocket knives are gonna get in knife fights, skin deer, and possibly perform emergency amputations.

    In reality, it’s all about Amazon boxes, loose threads, those hanger shoulder straps on women’s clothes, kid’s toys in hard plastic, and zip ties. Ha

  • Mar 9, 2019 -

    @jack Nice. Is that the black one? (Assuming it is, but since photo is B&W…)

  • Mar 5, 2019 -

    @jack I have a Benchmade Griptillian and like it, but I love this one. Has a feel similar to a Chris Reeve Sebenza or Inkosi (also have). Good steel too. It’s my EDC.

  • Feb 28, 2019 -

    @nitinkhanna Awesome, thanks!

  • Feb 19, 2019 -

    @grayareas I hope so!

  • Feb 19, 2019 -

    @manton I understand the desire for simplicity. Thanks for considering it, whichever way you ultimately decide to go.

  • Feb 19, 2019 -

    @manton Feature request: Would it be possible to better format blockquotes for cross posting to Twitter? Maybe a simple line break before/after or adding a “→” or something?

    As it is now, everything kind of runs together.

  • Feb 19, 2019 -

    @grayareas I’m just glad it wasn’t the Phillies (I’m a Braves fan). Now we wait and see with Harper and Kimbrel.

  • Feb 19, 2019 -

    @stickmandiaries He’s either going to be that or a mailman if his 2 year old aspirations are to be believed.

  • Feb 16, 2019 -

    @EddieHinkle That’s definitely weird. I think I’ve decided to stay with Channels and HDHomeRun. For the time being at least.

  • Feb 16, 2019 -

    @klandwehr Thanks!

  • Feb 16, 2019 -

    @chris They require an antenna for locals, unfortunately.

  • Feb 16, 2019 -

    @chris Channels app with SiliconDusts streaming plan allows for easy commercial skipping of everything DVRed.

  • Feb 15, 2019 -

    @chris Thanks. I read somewhere that on some DVRed shows, you actually get the on demand (must watch commercials) version. Is that the case?

    I’m using the Channels app with a HDHomeRun now. It has its issues, but handles commercials amazingly well.

  • Feb 15, 2019 -

    @chris How does commercial skipping with DVR work? Is it like a traditional fast forward or does it have a skip button or?

  • Feb 8, 2019 -

    @ablaze Yeah, it took me a while to customize lire to my liking. I was coming from Reeder as well.

  • Feb 8, 2019 -

    @ablaze What about Lire (what I use) or Fiery Feeds?

  • Feb 4, 2019 -

    @paulroub Your Blogging from Drafts action is working like a charm for me.

    What are you doing (or plan to do) with the linkURL for link posts? I see you insert it into the YAML, but have no insertion (via a title or something else) into the post. Are you just injecting that link somewhere using Jekyll/liquid? I tried finding an example post on your blog, but I didn’t see one.

    To be clear: you’re way more advanced than me and I’m riding your coattails to find a solution that’s works for me.

  • Jan 27, 2019 -

    @scientifics I’m beginning to think you and I have similar interests. Ha.

    It has a built in ND right? What about the film modes, do you use those?

  • Jan 25, 2019 -

    @scientifics No doubt. Although no snow blowers here. Cold to us is 40°.

  • Jan 19, 2019 -

    @scientifics They fit the same, just made differently. A lot more mesh.

  • Jan 19, 2019 -

    @scientifics The Aeronaut 30 small ones are great. Here’s a good article by @ben on cubes for GR1 (although the exact Tom Bihn ones he references are discontinued).

  • Jan 18, 2019 -

    @chrispederick Need to do something more formal, but:

    Wire Dopp for cables, Side Pocket for phone/keys, Mesh Pocket for Nalgene, TAD BC4 for AirPods, Padded Field Pocket for Camera, TOPO Pouches for misc, Tom Bihn packing cubes for travel, condor for small tools (knife, pen, etc).

    Let me know if you have any questions. Organizing with pouches is definitely the way to go.

  • Jan 8, 2019 -

    @EddieHinkle Thanks for the shout-out!

  • Dec 19, 2018 -

    @RobertFrench I understand that predicament.

  • Dec 19, 2018 -

    @bradbarrish Great resource. I know it’ll be never ending, but as you said...chipping away.

  • Dec 19, 2018 -

    @adamprocter I considered that one but ended up going with a CODE for the smaller footprint. Don’t know if I made the right decision, competitively speaking. But I am happy with it so far.

  • Dec 19, 2018 -

    @RobertFrench Yep. I deleted my account months ago. I have an alias account for emergency business page access when someone else messes up anything. I have no content, friends, or permissions on that account. I even use a throw away email account for it.

  • Dec 19, 2018 -

    @johnholzer I deleted my FB and created an alias account with no friends and no permissions (only to manage business pages when necessary). I never login on my phone and just once a month or so using a private/incognito window on my computer. Then I immediately log off and take a shower.

  • Dec 3, 2018 -

    @smokey That’s the hope! Ha

  • Nov 30, 2018 -

    @bradbarrish Amazingly similar story here. I’ve been ebay-ing and keeping wife up to date.

  • Nov 30, 2018 -

    @bradbarrish Very. I’ve tried out so much stuff that just doesn’t work for me (either because of my size or wants), and this stuff just works how I want it to work. It fits well and makes sense in my head, so to speak.

  • Nov 30, 2018 -

    @bradbarrish I got the GR1 Padded Field Pocket and the mesh water bottle thing. Now I'm considering the Echo and GR2 Field Pockets too. And a wire dopp. Goodbye, $.

  • Nov 30, 2018 -

    @bradbarrish Yeah, and Huckberry typically ships fast. Did you get any attachments/accessories for the GR1?

  • Nov 30, 2018 -

    @bradbarrish That sucks. At least you noticed it quickly and got it taken care of.

  • Nov 28, 2018 -

    @EddieHinkle Maui for this trip. We did the big island in April. This will be our 3rd time to Maui. We’ve also done Oahu and I’ve been to Kauai.

  • Nov 28, 2018 -

    @scientifics First impression of GR1 is — Holy cow, why did I wait so long for this? Obviously needs breaking in, but it’s the perfect size for what I want. Can’t imagine the Osprey (hasn’t arrived yet) will even compete.

    For GR1, do you carry a water bottle with it? I got their mesh water thing, but I’m undecided on it.

  • Nov 28, 2018 -

    @scientifics Loves the look and feel of the Mystery Ranch, but the layout and capacity just doesn’t work for me. So 1 down.

  • Nov 27, 2018 -

    @scientifics Yeah, @ben has been a primary resource for me on this (and some knives and watch stuff).

    I did get the 26L and one field pocket. Debating the Wire Dopp and side pocket. Didn’t think of putting side pocket inside.

    I got a ridiculously good deal on the Osprey, so I may just pass it along as a gift.

  • Nov 27, 2018 -

    @mangochutney Thanks. I have a ton of organizational possibilities, so that should be a problem. In fact, I probably should get rid of a ton of pouches/cubes/rolls/etc soon. Do you suggest any of the molle attachement accessories from GoRuck? Any from other brands?

  • Nov 27, 2018 -

    @scientifics I need to make a quick decision, so any input you have could help. Basic use would be urban day-to-day. But I would also use for travel and occasional short hikes. I’m 6’4” and want to carry an iPad Pro 12.9” often. Leaning GR1 without having it yet (no one ever says bad things about it).

  • Nov 27, 2018 -

    @bradbarrish Huckberry has the GR1 in Black for $100 off right now. I bought mine direct from GoRuck (also get military discount). I got the green one. You?

  • Nov 27, 2018 -

    @bradbarrish Great minds. I got a GR1 on sale like you did, a Mystery Ranch Urban Assault from Huckberry, and an Osprey Farpoint 40L. Wanted a variety to test.

    I'm currently selling (eBay) a Bullet Ruck, Tom Bihn Ristretto, and an Incase Icon.

    I go through too many of these things.

    Have you had a GoRuck before?

  • Nov 25, 2018 -

    @ben Appreciate it!

  • Nov 25, 2018 -

    @ben I’ve learned to trust your opinions on stuff...between what I’ve bought directly from you and because of your recommendations, I’ve been happy. Can’t imagine this would be any different. Any thing specific you recommend with it? I also got the GR1 Field Pocket.

  • Nov 25, 2018 -

    @ben Thanks!

  • Nov 25, 2018 -

    @ben Snagged one of the limited run GR1s just now. Other than color, are there any differences between those and the regular priced ones?

  • Nov 21, 2018 -

    @JohnPhilpin It actually is a gif. Apparently (unbeknownst to me), micro.blog handles them perfectly well when posted from a self-hosted source (my blog in this case).

  • Nov 14, 2018 -

    @jordanmerrick I’ve had luck just listing on Twitter/Micro/Blog. Much better luck than on Craigslist, etc.

  • Nov 13, 2018 -

    @macgenie What future feature is he most excited about implementing?

  • Nov 12, 2018 -

    @kaa I’m sure other browsers will eventually adopt it. Could very well be a while, but who knows. For a site like mine, it took about 3-4 lines of CSS to complete it so it was worth it to me.

  • Nov 1, 2018 -

    @JohnPhilpin Ha. Believe it or not, that was actually beneficial for me. Thanks!

  • Oct 22, 2018 -

    @grayareas He chose it this morning! Ha

  • Oct 22, 2018 -

    @eli His choice this morning! Ha

  • Oct 3, 2018 -

    @cheesemaker It appears to be a combination of two things. First, live in an area where it's just now cooling off to 90-95 degrees with rain. Secondly, take photos with an iPhone Xs. It apparently does grass voodoo.

  • Oct 3, 2018 -

    @canion Haha. Thanks. Here's the trick. Live where it's just now cooling off to be 90-95 degrees with rain. And also use an iPhone Xs in pictures because it does some crazy voodoo to grass.

  • Oct 3, 2018 -

    @jalvani And pitching changes. I do hate that. At least Gabe Kapler isn't managing in the postseason.

  • Oct 2, 2018 -

    @klandwehr Well, that worked. So that badge is showing how many apps have message integrations that you’ve not enabled or used. Would anyone just assume that?

    Thanks for pointing me to that!

  • Oct 2, 2018 -

    @manton Thanks!

  • Oct 2, 2018 -

    @jalvani I’m sorry for ruining your day. Ha

  • Oct 2, 2018 -

    @Manton Is there any type of gif support coming?

  • Oct 2, 2018 -

    @cheri If it was on the App Store icon on the home page, yes. But that’s not what it means in messages (everything is updated). It also doesn’t mean anything about how many apps have messages integration. I’d bet yours has a random number too (only shows when enlarged like in screen shot).

  • Oct 2, 2018 -

    @eli I thought you might be on to something. But I have more than that installed, less than that showing in messages, and no combination of those numbers equals the badge number.

    ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  • Oct 2, 2018 -

    @ben Emailed you, but I’m in for AppleWatch bundle.

  • Oct 1, 2018 -

    @grayareas 1 for 2 isn’t bad. Now if the Rockies can knock the Cubs out and the Braves can somehow beat the Dodgers…

  • Oct 1, 2018 -

    @bradbarrish Wow, thanks! Greatly appreciated.

  • Sep 30, 2018 -

    @the Thanks!

  • Sep 29, 2018 -

    @atog No problem!

  • Sep 29, 2018 -

    @bradbarrish Awesome!

    There is one minor bug with the micro.blog app. If it hasn’t been opened in a long time, it’ll open but not to the share sheet. Works most of the time though.

    If it doesn’t work, running shortcut a second time will make it work.

  • Sep 29, 2018 -

    @kaa I don’t mind it since it’s just a reference app.

  • Sep 29, 2018 -

    @kaa Glad you like!

  • Sep 28, 2018 -

    @EddieHinkle She’s definitely enjoying it!

  • Sep 27, 2018 -

    @EddieHinkle Thanks!

  • Sep 26, 2018 -

    @eli Thanks!

  • Sep 26, 2018 -

    @fiona I believe one app icon has more than the original iPhone. Crazy.

  • Sep 25, 2018 -

    @cn Ha. Wish I had them all now!

  • Sep 25, 2018 -

    @yorrike I wonder what they’ll be like in a few more years.

  • Sep 24, 2018 -

    @johnholzer Thanks. My dad actually found a box in storage with 5 older model iPhones (2 originals, 3 3G), a video iPod, and some random other Apple stuff like iPhone docks/cables. Everything works. I had to update this original iPhone to iOS 3.

  • Sep 21, 2018 -

    @adamprocter Just saw this for some reason. I didn't start fresh, I imported my old ones. What was the onboarding process for starting fresh?

  • Sep 17, 2018 -

    @adamprocter Yep. In fact if you update the Workflow app, it becomes Shortcuts.

  • Sep 7, 2018 -

    @scientifics I've had the same issue. I actually changed to an iOttie Easy One Touch 4 Vent Clip (longest name ever) for travel. It's bulkier than the Airframes but much more dependable.

  • Aug 31, 2018 -

    @johnholzer Can’t beat it!

  • Aug 31, 2018 -

    @rosemaryorchard That’s quite a detailed shortcut. Love it.

    As for url schemes, I was thinking they weren’t working properly in Shortcuts beta. Now I see that was just beta 1.

    Thanks for the help.

  • Aug 31, 2018 -

    @rosemaryorchard Basically wanting to know if there’s a better way to get content from Shortcuts into micro.blog. Currently, I can scrape anything (websites, App Store, etc) just fine, but then I just add to clipboard, open micro.blog, and paste. If I saved an image, I manually pull in an image from photos.

    Is there a way to auto populate (or post) to micro.blog from shortcuts?

    I hope that makes sense.

    @rosemaryorchard Have you made any great micro.blog shortcuts you’d be willing to share?

    I’ve made one I use for suggesting apps from the App Store (using icons/images/links), but I have no doubt you can run circles around me with your expertise.

  • Aug 30, 2018 -

    @adiabatic In my opinion, not much. A second sauce is definitely ok. Lettuce apparently stays fresher if on bottom, away from cheese. Burger emoji 🍔 has it with lettuce on bottom.

  • Aug 30, 2018 -

    @sharding I’m thinking of reporting it to the proper authorities.

  • Aug 30, 2018 -

    @adiabatic Much of what was below meat should be above meat. Should hit roof of mouth on bite, not tongue.

  • Aug 30, 2018 -

    @yorrike Had to be something like that. Or a new employee with no respect for human life.

  • Aug 30, 2018 -

    @vasta Sad thing is it was at a hugely popular burger joint. In fairness, first time it’s been like that.

  • Aug 27, 2018 -

    @EddieHinkle Ahh, that’s annoying! Good luck with Hulu.

  • Aug 25, 2018 -

    @EddieHinkle I’d try the one with the amplifier. Try it as high as you can and close to windows (or on a window) if possible.

  • Aug 25, 2018 -

    @EddieHinkle Couple of things:

    1. Use the zip code search thing at the bottom of this site to see what channels you could possibly receive with an OTA antenna. If NBC is the only option, I wouldn’t do antenna. If it expects the others, maybe get another longer range antenna. I use a 50 or 60 mile Mohu Leaf, I believe. They also make outdoor/attic/roof antennas. I can imagine they’d be a headache to setup though.

    2. If you have to go with another service like Hulu or YouTubeTV, make sure they have your local channels. They don’t have them in every market. Some times they only offer on demand versions of OTA channels. That’s a problem we have in our area.

  • Aug 23, 2018 -

    @jw My bad! I actually use SiliconDust’s (maker of HDHomerun) brand new service.

  • Aug 23, 2018 -

    @macgenie Oh, my heart just leapt.

  • Aug 23, 2018 -

    @jw Are you referring to what device? I have a home office iMac that I use. That’s completely overkill and not in any way necessary. I use it because I already had it.

  • Aug 23, 2018 -

    @EddieHinkle Good luck. Hit me up if you run into any issues. The Channels developer is also VERY active and responsive on the support forum.

  • Aug 23, 2018 -

    @EddieHinkle I haven’t tried Plex Pass, but I based my decision on reviews. Particularly around DVR functionality and commercial skipping.

  • Aug 22, 2018 -

    @cheesemaker Mine is similar. OTA Antenna (HDHomerun, Channels), Netflix, CBS All Access, SD Premium.

  • Aug 22, 2018 -

    @EddieHinkle I actually did here. Since that post, I’ve added the premium live channels (ESPN, TNT, and the like).

  • Aug 22, 2018 -

    @cheesemaker Agreed. Probably the main reasons are that they’ve never heard of it or that it’s more complicated to setup than Cable/Satellite. Or there’s that 1 Channel they don’t want to lose.

  • Aug 19, 2018 -

    @johnholzer I’ve maxed out everything and reached the black hole level. And I still can’t stop playing it.

  • Aug 18, 2018 -

    @eli Here you go. I’ll leave it available for a day or two, download whenever. www.dropbox.com/s/0jdx449...

  • Aug 18, 2018 -

    @eli Yep (although I have the Shortcuts beta right now). I can click the share button in the App Store and the shortcut will grab the icon, grab the screenshots, ask me which shots to use, combine all images into one, gets the App Store link, asks me the app name, creates a markdown link for me and copies it to clipboard, then finally opens microblog for me to paste and post. Had fun building it.

    Let me know if you want it or would like a similar version of it.

  • Aug 10, 2018 -

    @adamprocter It allows you to do Slack style emoji insertion in any text field. No need to use a shortcut or scroll through a million emoji.

  • Jul 30, 2018 -

    @gb Interesting. I like the Peak Design one. Wasn’t thinking I wanted something that big, but may go with that. I might also get something smaller for certain situations. Brixton has one for example.

  • Jul 30, 2018 -

    @ben Do you have a small/discrete bag recommendation? Something like a hip bag, bumbag, fanny pack (bleh)?

  • Jul 20, 2018 -

    @noah I actually saw him speak about that at Catalyst in Atlanta a few years ago. He gave everyone in attendance his book about it which is very good. He’s known to use hyperbole and assumptions to get to his conclusion from time to time, but it’s still a powerful read.

  • Jul 12, 2018 -

    @gb Appreciate it!

  • Jul 12, 2018 -

    @jw It should be working now. 👍🏻

  • Jul 12, 2018 -

    @gb If you have a moment, could you verify that https is now working?

    mattlangford.net

    Thanks!

  • Jul 12, 2018 -

    @gb Yeah, there are some DNS related issues at the moment. @manton is trying to help me work them out.

  • Jul 12, 2018 -

    @jw You should be able to access the non https version right now. Having issues with the https right now. Manton is looking in to it.

  • Jul 10, 2018 -

    @manton Thanks. I did what you said (and more). Sent an email with details.

  • Jul 10, 2018 -

    @rmcrob I did something similar by dropping DropBox as a primary storage method and going with a 2TB iCloud plan (shared with my wife). No regrets so far. I do have a few very important files still in a free DropBox account (also in iCloud) as an emergency backup.

  • Jul 9, 2018 -

    @rmcrob Which apps did you replace and with what?

    For me:

    Photoshop to Pixelmator Pro Premiere to Final Cut Audition to Logic Illustrator to Sketch

  • Jul 9, 2018 -

    @manton Another question. Trying to add a custom domain. Says hasn’t propagated, but it is loading some other random micro.blog. It should’ve had enough time to propogate. www.mattlangford.net

  • Jul 9, 2018 -

    @manton The backlog of login emails just all came through. Crisis averted. 🙂

  • Jul 9, 2018 -

    @manton I had to switch between 2 different micro.blog accounts today, and now I'm not getting login emails for my main account (or they're delayed). Guessing this is some sort of spam/brute-force limitation that I triggered. My only access now is already logged in devices.

  • Jun 25, 2018 -

    @Ron Red Hen and Masterpiece Cake Shop.

  • May 29, 2018 -

    @macgenie Valid point. Now if I can just practice restraint and not buy him every small (or big red ball) thing he wants.

  • May 6, 2018 -

    @johnholzer Glad I’m home now!

  • May 5, 2018 -

    @adiabatic Thanks!

  • May 4, 2018 -

    @adiabatic Thanks. Ordering the switch tester contraption thing tonight.

  • May 4, 2018 -

    @adiabatic Hmm. That is quite an interesting keyboard. Might be over the top, but it definitely has my interest.

  • May 4, 2018 -

    @adiabatic I've thought about ordering one from WASD, but I haven't yet.

  • May 4, 2018 -

    @smokey You definitely have me beat on all of that. Mine is primarily when on the phone (which I try to avoid at all costs).

  • Apr 30, 2018 -

    @vishae Same. My wife makes fun of me, and half the time I don’t even realize I’m doing it. I’ll do it even if I’m on hold.

  • Apr 30, 2018 -

    @philbowell Same. I almost feel uneasy if I’m not walking around.

  • Apr 30, 2018 -

    @colinwalker Yep. No idea why. I don’t walk around to think in other circumstances.

  • Apr 17, 2018 -

    @Zak Same one. Cool place.

  • Apr 2, 2018 -

    @dynamitemoth Thank you much! Hope the remainder of your time is awesome.

  • Mar 28, 2018 -

    @johnholzer I would live there if it were feasible.

  • Mar 23, 2018 -

    @ismh Thanks. Just ordered it from B&H. Blaming you if I don’t like it. 😁

  • Mar 21, 2018 -

    @ismh I’m considering that lens, but I have a crop sensor (A6500). Trying to decide between it or the 35mm for a cheap prime.

  • Mar 21, 2018 -

    @ismh How do you like that 50mm Sony lens you have listed in your gear?

  • Mar 6, 2018 -

    @Zak Yeah, they are. We don’t live near a store, so they’re overnighting one to us. Should have it tomorrow.

  • Mar 6, 2018 -

    @manton Yep. The 7.0.1 Yoast plugin update reset all of the plugins settings and began injecting that. Fixed.

  • Mar 6, 2018 -

    @manton Yeah, after asking I found it injected into RSS/JSON. Working on figuring out where the heck that's coming from.

  • Mar 6, 2018 -

    @manton Is the “The post appeared first on…" tag at the end of posts new? I don't believe I've changed anything on micro.blog or on my self-hosted WordPress any time recently. (Also sent a support request email about this and a couple other things.)

  • Feb 23, 2018 -

    @johlym No kidding. Drive through this yard, jump the ditch, cut through the mall parking lot, under the church’s breezeway, and you’ll pass up traffic. Maybe.

  • Feb 23, 2018 -

    @johnholzer I did for a while, but have switched to Apple Maps or Google Maps depending on the situation. I have CarPlay, so Apple Maps works best with that.

  • Feb 10, 2018 -

    @the There are lots of sources, but here is one.

  • Feb 3, 2018 -

    @eli Thanks for the link. We have travelled a lot too (nothing this long). We do the iPad with no sound thing as well. On our last trip, he played with the boarding passes for about 2 hours. That was a pleasant surprise.

    We went to Maui on our honeymoon, then a second trip split between Maui and Oahu. Going to the big island this time. I went to Kauai as a kid with my parents.

  • Jan 13, 2018 -

    @smokey Cool. I’ll look into it. Thanks. Flight out in a few hours.

  • Jan 13, 2018 -

    @smokey I guess a better way to ask is...how formal is it? Would baby noises or strollers or a dropped toy/bottle ruin the experience for others?

  • Jan 13, 2018 -

    @collin I believe you can easily switch it with an included tool.

  • Jan 13, 2018 -

    @smokey I haven’t done that. Our previous time there was only for a couple of days. Would it be (well behaved) baby friendly?

  • Dec 31, 2017 -

    @macgenie Thank ya!

  • Nov 25, 2017 -

    @adiabatic Imagination is key!

  • Nov 25, 2017 -

    @eli That is so very important!

  • Nov 17, 2017 -

    @adiabatic I made some simple CSS changes to display certain elements full-width (embrace the notch) using this method.

  • Nov 16, 2017 -

    @the Yep. Agreed on both.

  • Oct 17, 2017 -

    @JeffPerry Here is a quick walkthrough of micro.blog with WordPress. mattlangford.net/integrati...

  • Sep 19, 2017 -

    @manton Thanks for reading. I went ahead and added the feed part.

  • Sep 19, 2017 -

    @manton Wrote a messy Wordpress/Micro.blog integration post. Mind giving it a quick glance for accuracy? mattlangford.net/integrati...

  • Aug 18, 2017 -

    @adiabatic All of them.

  • Aug 18, 2017 -

    @manton Sent that email to help@micro.blog. Thanks for your time in helping me out.

  • Aug 18, 2017 -

    @manton Ok, one last update. App is working fine, just was delayed (everything posted where it should've). Only posts from micro.blog site seem to deadend.

  • Aug 18, 2017 -

    @manton Actually, the app is only sort of working. It's publishing to my blog just fine, but not showing here or crossposting to Twitter (could be delayed, which is fine).

  • Aug 18, 2017 -

    @manton Still having issues. Everything works flawlessly from the app, but only replies are consistent from micro.blog site. I'm seeing different stuff at mtt.micro.blog, micro.blog/mtt, and the app. None match up. Haven't changed settings (only deleted FB crossposting).

  • Aug 18, 2017 -

    @manton It still doesn't seem to be working (unless it's really delayed). Only replies are posting.

  • Aug 18, 2017 -

    @manton When I publish from the website, my posts seem to be going into the abyss (not including mentions). I don't see them on micro.blog, my site, or Twitter.

  • Aug 15, 2017 -

    @ben Courthouse where I had jury duty doesn’t allow any device that has a camera. I was stuck with 2 year old magazines and law enforcement posters.

  • Jul 28, 2017 -

    @ismh I had the same issue. Need to change the “feed url” on micro.blog to match your custom domain feed. That should fix it.

  • Jul 27, 2017 -

    @desparoz I fall more on the Designer side, but I hear ya. Maybe one day...

  • Jul 27, 2017 -

    @desparoz I believe they’re bringing Affinity Designer to iOS as well. Can’t wait.

  • Jul 25, 2017 -

    @manton On your personal blog, any reason you haven’t updated the header scripts to point to your different RSS feeds (full and microblog)?

  • Jul 21, 2017 -

    @oddevan If you’re using a plugin that changes titles (such as Yoast), you may need to modify settings for that plugin.

  • Jul 20, 2017 -

    @manton No worries at all. Love how far everything has come.

  • Jul 20, 2017 -

    @manton What about inline links on Facebook? Doesn’t seem to pull them out and attach them.

  • Jul 18, 2017 -

    @manton Thanks for the help and quick response.

  • Jul 18, 2017 -

    @manton Why are post urls being appended to my posts on Micro.blog site and app? Not showing on Twitter cross posting or on my custom domain.

  • Jul 6, 2017 -

    @macgenie Nice! How does one acquire one of these?

  • Jun 6, 2017 -

    @macgenie Hi! 🙋🏻‍♂️
